I built this site as the result of searching the internet for a graphical (map, chart, or otherwise) representation of American history that would show America's population growth going back 100 years or more. After a good deal of searching I was shocked that I was unable to find much of anything going back earlier than 1970.
So out of curiosity, and since I have the technical know-how to do it, I decided to build the maps myself.
My interest in the subject is related to my immigration reduction activism since 2002. Like most Americans, I had a strong idea that immigration was dramatically changing America. But I was unable to see the trend from a big picture perspective without the kinds of maps and graphics I have since built for this site.
